Hey JetPhotos members!

I got rejected for a photo (TF-KFE) for the following reasons:

• Backlit
• Too much or too little contrast

I feel like the backlit rejection should not be there since it's very cloudy and the light is sort of coming from all directions, which makes it look backlit.
This is my 2nd attempt at uploading the photo, and for the first attempt, I didn't get rejected for the photo being backlit, that was something else that I already fixed.

I'd like to get some advice on what to change in the image regarding the contrast. Personally, I feel like it looks fine.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Not a screener. But here is my grain of salt.

The tail is pretty dark, which means there really isn't too much light shed on the part of the aircraft body you are shooting at. A dark tail usually equals to backlit rejection here at JP.
Plus, since it is very cloudy, it usually leads to contrast rejections (see https://forums.jetphotos.com/forum/a...-or-too-little ); there is prolly nothing you can do to fix it (your highlights are already overwhelmingly clipped). Better keep it as your own collection.

Okay, I understand but shadows coming from the elevator part is just natural and leads to the tail being dark? I wasn't rejected for backlit before so I don't get which evaluation was correct. As for the cloudy conditions, I'm not sure, clouds are common..? Anything I can do to fix that?

It was rejected for contrast the first time, which you adjusted and made it more apparent the image is backlit. Given the very poor light, I'm not sure this image is fixable.

Images from cloudy days can be acceptable, but you need to take more care with the editing, and the chances of them being accepted are much lower.

Cloudy days need tons of contrast between aircraft and sky to be acceptable. A good example: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10630863

I tried to adjust your photo, maybe there is a chance if you dont elevate exposure that high and give some good contrast. But I am not a screener so I cannot guarantee if this is something they want. I can't do anything with your rejected photo because there is just too much light clipped in highlights.



However, the dark tail is still a big problem and very likely lead to rejection. But try it out. But the best bet is just to take photos on at least broken days.

The problem with the contrast just has to do that the sky is extremely bright, nearly pure white. It’s an unfixable photo sadly.

These are not the photos that would actually be uploaded, so they cannot be prescreened. Please make sure you post the exact images you hope to upload. You are likely restricted to images no larger than 1280pix, and the system overall cannot accept any image larger than 1920pix.

Unfortunately these images are all soft/blurry and heavily compressed. There is no chance they would be accepted.

Looking at the higher-resolution images above, I can also say that the quality on those is quite low on those as well, so further editing would be pointless. Sorry!
