Minor softness/compression on both, and looks like a dust spot on the second as well.

Thanks Dana, I have tried adding a bit more contrast to the EK photo to see if it makes it a bit better and sharpened the QR photo a bit, are they any better?

1. still poor. might not be fixable.
2. still borderline, but ok for me.

The thing is I haven’t applied any vignetting to the photo or taken the photo with different settings to other photos, can I show you the original?

Hi, i've read that vignetting is caused by the lens in this kind of shots, it has also happend to me, you can try to amend it incresing the exposure with filters on the sides of the image, that has worked for me before.
