I guess I've been 'overprocessing' a lot lately, any idea what mistake am I making? How do I fix it?

I use Lightroom, what I'm mainly doing is increase contrast, decrease highlights, sharpen the image anywhere between 80 to 150 and add about 20 to 30 Noise reduction, anyone's help/ suggestions would be really appreciated.

Editing halos, likely from the 'decrease highlights' step.

thank you so much for pointing it out, in this edit, I increased the contrast but instead of decreasing highlights, I adjusted the exposure, I feel the halos might have worsened, but how are your thoughts on this edit and the process?

Badly oversharpened, but previously visible halos are gone.

                  • Edited another image using the same method but sharpening to 40, is this also badly oversharpened, any suggestions on the post processing?

This one has halos too, though of a different kind. Might be as a result of sharpening or something else.

                      • I just figured it out, the output sharpening for glossy paper was enabled, that was causing the issue, how are these now?
