When you say the full res image looks oversharpened now, do you mean what you are looking at while its in Photoshop/Lightroom?

After exporting the image in full res from lightroom. I export in jetphotos resolution but also full resolution.

If I can send the uncompressed image here could that help narrow it down?

This is about 2mp smaller than the full resolution as the maximum upload limit prevented me from sending an attachment beyond a width of 4608 pixels.

The forum seems to be compressing the image as well; changing to a png file format is even worse. Very irritating as this makes a massive difference in what the image looks like.

Definitely heavily compressed, but still looks pretty decent for 2500pix. As such, I'd guess it's probably just your editing that is letting you down.

Funnily enough this is after editing and exporting from lightroom. I'm 90% sure now that it's the downsizing of the photo to 1280px that's causing the sharpness issue.

What resampling method are you using? I've found that exporting the photo into the workspace out of camera raw at 1920 long side, then resampling on preserve details 2.0, and adding a bit of 0.4px unsharp mask works pretty well

Unfortunately I don't have the space on my laptop for photoshop and so I don't believe I could use preserve details 2.0. If I can eventually do so I'll give that a go.

I also noticed that some photos on the site are uploaded at 1920p, under what conditions is this resolution allowed? I believe it'd solve the softness issue I'm experiencing with the photos.

From what I know you need a 60% accept ratio, not sure if there's any other conditions but it's a safe bet to say you probably need 10 or 20 uploads

That's annoying.. guess I'll just have to wait until I can try the resampling method you suggested. Thanks

Hi, I've managed to get photoshop working, and used the method suggested by oojiflip, but on a different photo. What improvements need to be made? Click image for larger version

This would be rejected for too far, centering, dark, and vignetting.
