  • Image quality after upload?

    [photoid=276786]

    There seems to be a problem with the sky in this. it looks great on my PC, no problems but after uploading it looks a bit off as you can see. I used Neat Image to clean out scanner noise, the original image size is 1013x765 and I used maximum file size on saving.

    Any ideas please?

    I think the Jetphotos.net system compresses the image a little to get the image down to a suitable file size.

    BTW, I'd be careful with how much you use Neat Image, that image looks like you overdid it a bit.

        I've not had it long and Its not the easiest thing to get right!! The strange thing is the original image looks OK to me.

        Ill have to try it again and reupload.

        Thanks

            Ok here is the original. But again its not as good as if I view it direct form the image stored on the PC. If it looked like this to begin with I wouldnt have uploaded it. If you have any suggestions they would be appreciated.
            Thanks

                  That’s the original file as uploaded not the original scan.

                  I think that I need to carefully revaluate the use of Neat Image as it seems to have the effect of making things look rather synthetic if you are not very careful. The upload process also appears to exaggerate any defects.

                  Thanks to all for your comments.
