I think that you sharpened the second one a little too much. Take a look at the reg on the aircraft and you will see what I mean where is what I was able to do with the image

I blurred the image twice, and then resharpened it only once.

I think that the third and the first pic has a chance but I think that over all the first one is a little too sharpened. But that is just my humble opinion

No offense but I don't really think it's post processing.

Take the 300D and read the entire instruction manual.

The .pdf of the manual is available here for download. You got a great setup, and with a little practice and studying you should be turning out some good shots.

When I first got my 300D I shot using Sports Mode. Understandably the results were not very good. However with 6 months + of practice I think I'm getting it.

If you centre the last picture properly you will probably have it accepted to the database, there isn't really anything you can do with the other two.

I agree with GrantT on this. The third pic looks pretty good

The first two, I think they look oversharpened.

If it will help, I will e-mail you some settings that I use and that I found work really well.

They look oversharpened, grainy and have quite a bit of JPEG compression visible.

This is how you should edit in photoshop:

                  1. Crop (if needed)
                  2. Resize to 1024x**** or 1200x**** or whatever but no higher than about 1600x****
                  3. Add Un Sharp Mask... (Amount: 500% Radius: 0.2 pixels Threshold: 0 or Amount: 300% Radius: 0.3 pixels Threshold: 0) choose whichver makes the pic look better. One of these 2 would be good for most pics, however on occasion you might have to exparament a bit.
                  4. If your image isn't in 8bit mode change it to that by selecting image>mode on the top bar.
                  5. Save make sure you set the quality level to 12 on the save JPEG screen.
                  6. Upload
Then when you upload make sure the plane looks centered in the thumbnail and your all set.

Also if you don't have one get yourself a memory card reader. A good one is about $30... deffenetly worth it.

And as has been stated before use ISO 100 or 200 in "P" or "Tv" mode.. if in "Tv" mode use a shutter speed of 1/320 or faster. I usually use "P" mode.
