  • Need Photoshop Help! It's Crashed!

My Adobe Photoshop (PS7) program is all out of whack. When I try to open it, it will go thru most of the process but will not start the program. Instead it just quites like I never even started it. I have tried un-installing and re-installing several times now. It literally just stopped working a few days ago. Any ideas what would cause this ir how it could be fixed? Please help!

Did you contact Adobe tech support? They might be able to help you.

Don't get offended, but is it an original or copy version?

I know for Windows XP, if you don't activate your copy online (retail version or OEM, not preinstalled), it will stop working after 30 days. Maybe it is the same deal for Adobe PS 7?

I got a copied PS 5...real old I know but it works just fine (before I get jumped on, I do have a legit copy of PS 5 ).

While you should always buy a legit copy of the software, your problem doesn't seem to have anything to do with it being bootlegged.

Members here just enjoy jumping down people's throats. However, because of your case, you can't really ask for Adobe support.

Do you use Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) by anychance?
If you do, check out his link, which may help:

Hi there, did a clean install of Panther, i have oS 9.2.1 also, did a clean install of all my software - all runs fine except photoshop 7.0, which keeps quiting out just before it loads. Re-start in OS9 and run it and it works fine, run classic in X and i get the same - quits out.....very...

If you use XP, check out this link:

Some very useful info on both sites. Hope this helped.

I don't kid myself to get Adobe PS7 or CS because I know I dont have the cash. Elements came with the printer I bought and works great. Half of the people on here who download bootleg copies of CS or PS7 will probably never touch even half of the functions the cheaper Elements already provides...

                Sorry...no sympathy from me.

Yeah sure, I have an extra $700 to spend. I have a great job but my wife makes more as a teacher. I did not copy PS nor did I download it. My friend gave it to me so I instllalled it.

Anything come with your D70 PT?

Elements came with the Rebel and that's what I'm using because I only need to crop, resize and hit my shots with some USM.

Yeah there's a basic program, I don't recall the name at the moment, but I guess it will have to work for now. Elements would be nice to have.

                              Yeah

                              BTW, the D70 is huge!

Best Buy had one sitting next to a DReb, size difference was impressive.
