OK, I'll try again with a bit longer caption.

    Thanks,

You cant exactly see that can you?
If it was day time it would have probably been accepted, also, it seems out of focus.
I'm sure if the photographer could have chosen his missions a la carte he wouldn't have picked one involving a night hookup with a tanker in the middle of a CB...

Robert, although the photo is difficult to understand to those not familiar with military flying, if you added a comment that effectively explained what was going on I would be inclined to accept the photo, especially knowing under what conditions it was taken.

I was hoping the caption provided lent some extra info to the photo and maybe provided some form of stimulus for comments. As for focus, handheld in a thunderstorm at night: this is as good as its gonna get.

I honestly doubt I'll try to recreate this experience to try again

What is the purpose in the shot?
What are you trying to show?

To me, the shot is showing static electrcity, not exactly Aviation related. So in my book would be a bad motive rejection, just keep trying.

    Too dark??

Ok, this photo got rejected for being too dark.

I admit the lighting is a bit scarce as we are over Iraq between FAC(A) missions, in a thunder storm, flying lights out. The only bits of lighting is our probe light which is lighting the basket and the 10 foot piece of static electricity stretching from the basket to our probe tip.

I figured that a photo like this has some interest in a forum like this. Am I wrong?
