We wait a bit more to see if anyone else wants to have a go then we vote.

                My try
Tricky image with the colors washed out in the shade and the American logo is a pain to shrpen with the white outline.

                              Help

Is it possible to take decent pictures that will be worthy of the database with anything other than a digital camera? Ive taken a few and they scan horribly. I'm very new to this and know nothing....but it already seems like a lot of fun. Anyone who can help me i'd be more than happy to get you some of these photos to look at.

Yes, its possible to take good photos with a non digi camera. When you take the film in to get it developed, get them burnt onto a CD while your at the shop.
A few examples off the top of my head are.
