How do I convert RAW images from a D50 to jpeg? There's no program on my computer that will even open the images. Do I have to use Nikon's software, because I only have a 30 day trial.

There are many programs available if one would just get on the internet and look for them or even in stores. I personally recommend photoshop cs2. Its a bit pricey but well worth it. In any case...raw shooter essentials 2005 is available on the net for free and is a full functioning program and it works wonderful. Here is the link to it. http://www.pixmantec.com/products/ra...essentials.asp

    Enjoy!

Photoshop full version is indeed pricey, to say the least. It's also complete overkill if all you want to do is get pictures ready for posting online.

Unless you plan to make this a very serious hobby or you want to turn pro, I recommend Photoshop Elements (current version is 4, don't know if 3 is still available, that will work perfectly well, and it costs $99 or so).
