  • Are these worth the queue space?

Im shooting with the most basic of Lenses (the 18-50 kit lens) and just wondering if it is worth some of these in the queue as I have others of the same aircraft and it I cant upload more than 2 with the same rego.

Many of these shots suffer from distracting backgrounds and/or have the subject too low in the frame. I would keep no. 1, the shrink-wrapped Herc, and maybe 821729 and 821733. For the rest I'd say take your time till you can get better shots.

Thanks for the Comments, After these shots im putting any further photography on hold till I purchase a telephoto lens, This wide angle is shocking becuase I have to get close.

What are your thoughts on 821730 as that one was accepted at a.net

James I think that will get accepted but JetPhotos and Airliners are two very different sites

730 is fine except for the truck in the background (I'm talking aesthetics not rejection reasons), so since you've got another shot of the same aircraft I went for this one instead.

Always scan the background and the borders of the frame when composing your shot. In my opinion the background can make or break a shot. Of course if it's a unique subject and you've only got one chance, then screw the background!

Nothing wrong with using a short lens -- lots of people would love to be able to get close enough. If you've got the opportunity, use it to the max. Short or long lens, it's a matter of looking over your photos, figuring out what worked and what didn't, and trying to do better next time. I'm sure you'll be uploading great photos in no time at all.

Thanks for the tips, will try and look out for those background objects Getting close is no problem for me as I am a Student Pilot, only problem is all I can shoot around here is GA, Still some nice aircraft though.

But thats what I mean, It got accepted over there but is it good enough for here?

A lot of them seem unlevel to me. Most of them are nice shots otherwise, but they need a little bit better editing.

821730 looks ok, a little underexposed and ever so slightly soft if i were being pedantic

I'm also big into shots like those, so that's just what I have to say.

Also Monty I would suggest changing 'Unknown' in the airline field of those few 172s, the operator is written on the aircraft!

The hand you can see in the pic belongs to an Instructor, and looks to be explaining something, but also that is where our refuelling pump is so they do a 180 and pull in there.
