  • negative and slide scanner help

    Hi all,
Im looking to put all of my vast collection of negatives and slides onto C.D. via my computer, can anyone tell me which scanner would be best, i.e. quality for price or even just the best quality as I might upload some of my rare ones here. Any help much appreciated.

I have a Konica Minolta Scan Dual IV scanner which i use for scannning my slides. Since getting it in December i have been able to upload over 100 slides, some of which are over 20 years old. You need to spend a bit of money ( have a look at eBay, thats where i got mine) to get good results. Processing is still very important though and i still have a lot of rejects, but i'm slowly getting the hang of it...

IF you want the best scanner for a reasonable price then look at the Konica Minolta Dimage 5400 Version II. IT is an awesome scanner!

I would definitely take the Minolta Scan Dual into account. I use the Scan Dual II since 2000 or so and am very happy with it. But if you want to spend a few $$$ more, I heard wonders about the Nikon Coolscan.
