  • Horizon unlevel?

    http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject.php?id=858510

The trees in the background look pretty straight to me. Checked this with a grid and not sure which way if any to rotate the image. Any advice appreciated.
    Cheers.

I'd use that little white fence as a reference line to level it up.

Have you appealed it? It looks level to me.

Who's to say the fence is not on a slope??

You have to use something you know is perfectly vertical/horizontal, like the buildings and the electric pole in the background, which it appears he has done.

I agree it looks level, you should appeal.

It's not very well centred either.

Looks to me like it could use a little CW rotation, and its a little low in the frame (to my eye)

                  Dear Rob;

I was the one I rejected this picture, as it's cleary bad horizon. I'm not used to reject pictures for 0.2 or 0.3 degrees, but in my opinion this one is too much.

Use buildings and concepts like that for check horizon, not trees.

This NWA picture needs to be corrected 1.51 CW. Be careful then with the cut off when crop.

                  Have my best regards,

That was my first try, but the the bigger of the red snd white masts looked like it was made in Pisa. With the pic uploaded the smalelr mast leans slightly to the left, the other lsightly to the right.

But I will give it a try later today.

Looks like you rotated to level the runway, but that's wrong in my opinion. The runway is not perpendicular to the camera's line of sight as can be seen from the angle of the plane, so perspective dictates that it should take on an apparent slope upwards to the right. Rob's original looks more natural to me. Numerous shots in the db illustrate my point.

Thanks for the opinions. Not sure what to do with it still though When it's rotated CW there is a green line behind the tail that looks more unlevel. Will probably appeal (my first appeal ever!!!)

                          Appeal was successful. Cheers all.

                            Hi.
Got this one rejected for unlevel horizon

                            http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject.php?id=862389

But I'm very confused and had many problems with pics from this location in the past. The small light pole on the left next to the Khalifa seems to tend to the right while the big one on the right tneds to the left. I think it's very difficult to get this one leveled so I post the unreworked pic in 1800pix width here so you might try out a bit and send it to me via email if you want. [email protected]

                            Thanks for your help!
