  • Hello,

I need some hints for this aircraft.

I didn't find any information about this plane (OE-FKO / Titanen Air). I looked into the austrian plane-register, but I didn't find it. And I'm not able to define the kind of this plane.

How should I fill the necessary informations at the upload page?

BTW: Is the quality o.k.? I'm not sure - is it too bright?

    Thanks in advance
    Jürgen

The CRJ-900 looks a tad soft
              The 737 looks fine

                • Its a little dark, seems somewhat noisy and could use a clockwise rotation to make it level.

                  • Overexposed or just okay?

                    Hello at all,

what do you think. Are all 3 pics too overexposed or could at least one make it to the database? Otherwise I´ll put them to my private collection.

                    This is my favourite one...

                    Cheers,
                    Philipp

                    • Number 1 might make it but the whites are a little bright.

Number 2 is a bit oversharpened. See the jaggies on the cheat lines ?

Number 3 is also a little bright on the whites and may get a cut off reject for the missing wingtip and horizontal stabiliser.

The brightness can be adjusted with the curves tool ( are you using Paintshop ? ). Click on the white area and note where the indicator flicks on on the graph line. Click and hold at this point and drag the line down a bit. Then go to the red underbelly just below the edge of the cheat line and drag the graph up a bit so that you get a very gentle "S" curve. What you are doing here is "closing the gap", so to speak, in the contrast levels between dark and light areas. Make the adjustments small and start with a fresh image. Don't try to modify your already processed picture as this can lead to a compression issue.

This link to Jid Webb's workflow should help you....

                      • Gandalf,

The darkness is a contrast issue and can be fixed by adjusting the highlights arrow in "Levels".

I haven't adjusted the horizon in this reprocessed example but I fear that the noise/grain is going to kill it. I am, however, working on your already processed example so a reprocess from original may be useable. The EXIF shows that you used ISO 250. This, combined with the less than perfect lighting seems to have caused the grain. I also gave this example two passes of overall USM at 100. 02. 0.

                        • Hi,

I wonder if this one has a chance to be accepted.

It was the first time a had the luck to take such a picture during sunset so I am very unexperienced in that kind of shots.

                          Best regards

                          • Its too under exposed to be a good sunset shot so id suggest boosting the contrast and adding some brightness to bring it up as a silhouette

Number 1 is the the photo from above.
