Guides not showing in Photoshop CS2

I was just messing around with some pictures of mine when I realised the red guidelines were not showing whenever I tried to insert them using View->Guides.

I have guides enabled on View->Show->Guides. I'm wondering how to get this feature working because it helps me centering the aircraft in the frame.

crtl + ' to show/hide the grid........is that what you are after

Here's the PS General Keys Window.

There's a drop-down-menu there at the top.

You find both the grid and guides here.

Press Crtl + K .....to open the window!
