  • first unsoft, now compressed?

My first shot was rejected for being unsoft. So I opened up the same pic, gave it 25% USM and resubmitted. Now it was rejected for having jpg compression????

If I didn't resize the image, how could it be compressed.....

    Dave,
I'd either appeal it , or.. if you get a soft rejection , totally rework the image from scratch to avoid a compression problem.

      thanks Will,

I did try to appeal the compression one because I don't understand how it could be compressed. I hate appealing shots, but some times I just can't understand it so I come here an "vent". Most of the times I totally see the rejection and just move on.

I was afraid to start from scratch on the original because then it would just lead to new rejections. Maybe I just need to lay low for a while, could have ticked off the new screeners

haha doubt it mate , your entitled to your say like everyone else , you came to right thread so I can't really complain
But I'd reccomend reworking it form scratch or else ur editing and already edited photo which will lead to more rejections

the first one i rejected and i'm sure i put compression in it also?!?! have a look at the sky, it looks like a chess board or a jigsaw, you need to save the image at the highest quality to avoid compression. it is indeed soft also.

Here is your first rejection, which just shows the softness only.

I haven't changed the way I've saved my work, I've been using JID's method for some time now and was on a nice roll until recently. Yet the rejection rate has more than doubled since the new screeners have come on board. .

It appears I'm not the only one who's noticed this either

just wanted to show the states to prove it.

i'm not a new screener... the image is soft which was correct reason and the 2nd is compressed. whoever screened the image behind me obviously saw what i saw, soft image.

                Top Gun,

I'm sure I was the second screener on this. I thought I had checked compression but I must have missed it when I went to the check box.

I agreed with the first screener in his decision, however my ticking the box might not have happened properly.
