  • Worth appealing?

Two rejections in 4 months and now all of a sudden 3 in one batch

I'll accept the Alitalia rejection but I think these two are of value, before I create more work for the screeners could I have some second opinions ?

    Matt,

I hate to disagree with my fellow screeners in public but I think you have been a bit hard done by there.

To my mind, I would have accepted both, so I do feel these are worth appealing.

    Regards

Well the first one could be very easily be turned into an excellent picture by a fairly minor adjustment using the Levels or Curves tool in PS, so I'd suggest you try this and re-submit rather than appeal.

2nd one ... well yes, it could be crisper (though this image won't stand further sharpening), and a fairly routine subject. I think if you're honest with yourself, you know you can do better (like the first shot), so the question is, how much do you really want this shot in the DB? I think many photographers who have been uploading for a while wish they had been a bit more selective with some of their earlier uploads.

If the subject were special, different situation, but I'm guessing you'd have little difficulty in getting a better shot of a BA 'bus next time you're at LHR.

      Cheers,

      Colin

I agree with Garry. That was a little bit hard. Although, the pictures could easily be improved (as suggested by Colin), I probably would have accepted both. I suggest you appeal nr. 2 and reupload an improved version of nr. 1.

Now, I hope I wasn't the screener in question. Otherwise, you might call me Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde :P

        Cheers

Is it me, or have the screeners gone harder lately. Im not saying anything, but the thing is that my first two uploads were accepted, but now???? ALL ARE REJECTS. Is it because my shots are to typical?

            Matt,

I'd definitely appeal those. I know they'll be accepted because, well, I do the appeals.

Stefano, I wouldn't compare your rejections to those of Matt.

Ok then i'll submit them-perhaps.....it's not so much about whether I want these images in the Db but knowing what is acceptable and what isn't so I know for future reference. One result of this has been that I've reduced the number of pictures that I was going to upload from LHR visits on 29/06 and 02/07.

              Thanks for the assistance anyway

Two excellent pics. Try sending them to airliners.net, they will 'walk'
                it into their database.
