I know or at least i should now, but sometimes the results looks okay.

But now i know where and how to look for the halo's.
Tonight i will see if i can get these shots better.

    Thx all.

btw Nice workflow jid, but what i miss is some sharping in the workflow.

The halo effect can also be caused by aggressive use of the curve and level functions. One thing is for sure, if it says AUTO on it DON'T US IT !!

    I use PSE 4.

I'm not sure anymore, but i think i use in these pictures some of the auto functions and the levels function with the white drop.
Maybe these auto functions use the shadow/highlight function.
I sharpen bij selecting the aircraft and as posted in the forum some passes of USM (500/0.2/0).

Are you sure you didn't use shadow/highlight?

Esp. at the nose the dark halo can be seen if i'm correct.
Can you post the workflow you used, so we can find the reason for the halos. The dark is bad around gthe nose, the bright makes the wheel glow.

There is also a considerable amount of noise in both pictures. You probably oversharpened them both.

Overuse of the shadow and highlights function. You have a dark halo around the top and a bright halo around the underside of the plane.
