Well I'm struggling to get pictures accepeted on JP.

I recently had this rejected for too much noise or grain and Over Processed / Bad postprocessing:

I've had another go at it and came up with:

Is there anything else I can do with the picture before I try and upload it again?

I have a Fuji Finepix S5600 and am using Photoshop CS2 to edit.

    Thanks.

I don't think there's much you can do. The re-worked version looks really weird, probably to much Neat Image.

      Thanks for the reply.

I've uploaded the original at http://xboxhighway.com/images/pic1a.jpg

Okay, Just had a quick go at it and heres the result -
Unlimited space to host images, easy to use image uploader, albums, photo hosting, sharing, dynamic image resizing on web and mobile.

It needs more contrast. I tryed adding it but it became overexposed, I added highlights but it just made the colours really funny. Maybe for the personal collection?

I had a quick go and came up with this. I can understand where the screeners have got the over-processing from as the ground takes a very mottled/water-colour effect and this is without any noise reduction (eg neat image).

The other slight problem is the composition as the wingtip fence was cut off on the original. I've not cut that out for the sake of this pic, but it would most likely receive a cut off rejection if left in.

Ive just done a quick edit aswell. Its possible to do something with it, if you want to spend ages fiddling with it. Its very noisy?, couldn't use much shadow/highlight. It isn't brilliant anyway but, im pretty sure it would get accepted. Ive seen worse than that http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/224/monarchws5.jpg. Like Sam said, it might be one for the personal collection. See what a screener says.

            Hope this helps

I'll have another go at editing it from scratch and see what I come up with. I'll focus on the ground to make sure it doesn't have that affect and I'll post what I can do.

Do you think this has too much noise?

Yar. But I must thank the people that helped me. With my S5600 is hard to get the results you want. But it's still a decent camera

You can get results with your camera. I don't own a DSLR, i use a Sony DSC H1 and if you keep plugging away and be patient, you'll get results.

The S5600 is a good camera. I use the S5100(S5500) and though it may not be the best it gets the job done. You should be able to get lots of good shots with the S5600. I'v seen some very nice photos from it.
