  • Horizon Unlevel, help needed

    Hello everybody,

I took this shot ouf of the cockpit, cruising at 36000 feet (FL360). The airport was about 20NM in our 2 o'clock position.

    http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=1108558

My question is: how could I level it to a horizon where no horizon is... Or turn it in which direction and how?! When I turn it that the runway is parallel to the picture frame, then it still looks weird in my opinion...

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...DDS_upload.jpg

Or do they mean that way?

So, what can I do? Please help! I like this shot and want it to be accepted

    Thank you very much!

While it depends how large is the photo, is it cropped ? Otherwise I would point the runway horizontally, or maybe less vertically.

Less vertical?! then the picture is NOT what it actually looked like! Then it would be so much edited or changed that I dont want to upload it anymore! thats the way I saw it during my flight...

      Perspective...

      Or am I mistaken completely?

Less vertically? so something like this?

      But it looks still weird...

        Looks better IMO..

Look at it this way. Look at the overviews in the database. Try to compare it to yours.
The planes in Your photo. the way they are located in the apron, the angle of the view is wierd, I had to turn my head to left to see the details better.

I think your Last photo is much much better than your first shown photos of it. Thats the one I'm talking about. Less vertically

The way it looks now, its more alternative, and does not distract the "horizon", like it did with your first photo, the runway distracted the borderline of your photo, it kinda distracted very much, if you know what I mean....

The angle at which you you were looking at that airport is not relevant in this case. Let me show you a wingshot of mine to make clear what I mean (not promoting my own picture or anything):

Even though I took this picture during a steep climb I still had to edit it to make the horizon look right.

Your picture needs about an 18° CW rotation to level it up.
