  • Making PostCards Out Of Images..

The local airport giftshop has looked at my collection of photos taken at the field and has offered me a chance to sell selected images as postcards on a consignment agreement(70%me30%them)....Anyhow...I would like to create a template simular to that that borders the images at Jetphotos.net...something that I can drag and drop an image into rather effeciently then I can send to the printer for completion....I would like to have my name and the name of the airport in the border...

Is there a way to create something like that....

    Thanks in advance...

BTW...I have PSCS 8 and PaintPro 9.0 and PSE 4.0.

I guess what Im looking for is a step by step tutorial..Im a visual person..

I don't use either of those packages but it should be quite simple.

Just create an image template with the border, copyright etc at the size and print resolution you need. Save that as an image file (normally a tiff file for pro printing). Then all you have to do is resize your aviation images and paste them onto your border template. If you past into a new layer in PS it centers the image for you, merger and save then your done

Does anyone know, while we are on the topic of postcards, if there are ready made blank cards available anywhere? I have long thought about producing some but I can't seem to find the necessary cards.

You can buy them from good stationary stores, also you can get back printed photographic and inkjet postcards if you look hard enough

if you use for example a Canon Thermosublimary printer like the CP-510 or so on, the paper is autoamically also a postcard on the back, it's 10x15cm

I use the Mitsubishi 9550DW printer with the 6x4PST rolls ...
gives you 600 prints (postcards) per roll !

I think if a gift shop wants to sell postcards...they want something that will last, and inkjet prints aren't known for lasting.
