  • Night Shots ?

As a beginner I have been looking at some night shots in the JP database
and have been wondering what the rational is for all those shots where you
can not even distinguish an aircraft ... sometimes I just wonder if the light
streaks I see are from a corvette driving at high speed, the space shuttle, fireworks or perhaps even a concorde flying again... Why are they accepted ?
We are plane spotters .... are we ??

Robby, for every one you see accepted in the database another ten would have been rejected for motive. If the screener can see some aeronautical interest in the shot it will be added to the database.

That's another one of those conspiracies .... and if you browse them all, you will notice a pattern. The photogs are all screeners or relatives, friends, cousins or just photogs bribing the screeners.

That motive sounds very acceptable to me Anthony !!.... as for Gerardo's answer I surely hope that he can back up his conspiracy theory......
The door was wide open ..... no need to kick it in !

          You mean such shots ?

Well, imho they are clealry good enough to be accepted. It is clearly aviation related and also a nice brake from the usual shots. And also a good exampel of what the artistic category can be used for.

It's an artistic shot, something which we have a category for. They show the flightpath of the plane, which I think is very interesting. Please don't start any more of those "why was this so and so shot accepted" threads, because they're annoying, insulting to the photographers that took them, and they really give you a bad reputation here.

Why do we not allow members to ask a question that may be concerning them or even allow others to have a differing point of view.

To be fair he didn't pinpoint any particular photo. He only expressed his view on one particular motive. You can agree or disagree with what he said, but I see nothing wrong with him saying it.
