  • Bad Composition? Input Please.

    http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=1278338

Okay, I'm horrible at judging my own photos, but can someone tell me how the composition of this photo is bad? Is there any chance of it getting in?

Hey thanks! Expedient help, that's why I like this place.

A crop and re-upload is in order then.

You also may want to note your horizontal centering........

Nice shot mate, all thats wrong has already been explained.

Ok, how do you get that grid thingy to come up, that is fantastic! Would save me hours of holding my screen at different angles to ensure centreing (is that a word) is correct!

You are a star mate, thank you very much.

I really must start to learn more about Photoshop than just changing image sizes, 'sharpen' and 'auto contrast'!

                Bad bad Composition

What to one person is bad composition is a well composed photograph to another.
The ground is running almost through the bottom third of the picture, the whole aircraft is between the horizontal thirds and the KLM fuselage logo is right on a vertical third.
There is enough space around the subject to give an impression of where it is and there is an imbalance at the front to say where it is going.
The only criticism that I have and this is not for a picture to go here is I would have removed the three dots on the LH side up in the trees, distracting elements.

For practical purposes, this is a not bad photo for everywhere but an on-line database. Simple rule of thumb - get as much of the aircraft in the frame as possible, preferably in the centre, with evenly spaced borders and its a shoo in.

                Everyone is a critic!

And to think you have had that same shoo-in 988 times.

                    That was acerbic humour.
