Reducing file/photo size on iPhoto

Im ready to upload my first photo, but my file size is too big. I have all my photos on iPhoto. How can I reduce the file size and or shrink the photo?

Go to:

File -> Export

Choose JPEG as the format and the button that says scale image and enter a width of at least 1024 pixels. Height will change in relation to that. Click export and save to whatever location you would like.
