Any advice? Outside of normal stuff(crop, dust spots, levels, sharp and contrast), I did nothing special to this photo. Advice appreciated.

    Cheers

Looks like overuse of shadow/highlight tool, as can be seen by the halos around the gear (dark) and tail (Bright). Also looks a bit overfiltered.

So Seahawk, we meet again. Your advice on F-stop for the 50-500 zoom was very helpful. I think the quality is better even if the acceptance rate isn't. I didn't use shadow/highlight tool. I used "magic-loop" to sharpen only the aircaft and avoid bringing out all the grain in the sky. Perhaps a bad idea. Could you please further explain the "overfiltering"?

      Thanks

The sky looks a bit iverfiltered to me, on first look I would say noisefilter use, but maybe the magic loop trick made it look that way. However I can only say that there are halos around the plane as described above. Usually this comes from the shadow/highlight tool, but can be caused by other errors in processing as well.

          Different reason; same problem?

Exactly what the answer to your appeal said.

Haven't seen it yet. Can't get through the filters at work. Will keep working at it.

              Cheers
