Would I be better off to cut off the left half of the aircraft to centre it better, and does anyone have any other ideas:

A bit lower perhaps....Awful lot of dull tarmac at the bottom of the shot

Yep definately put it a bit lower in the frame!
you also show less of the distracting box in the low right

Don`t try to cut off parts of the aircraft in this case, it doesn`t look good!

As the other said it is too high in the frame.

Possibly a different crop ratio?? More tight and narrow.

Nope, the size ratio is OK, but the aircraft is simply too high in the frame.

Also, don't chop off parts of the aircraft. In this angle it doesn't look good at all.

What are you refering to? The whole aircraft fits into the frame?
Oh yeah, I think the bird is a humming bird xD

On a side note, there is a nice blob of dust slightly above the cockpit window!! Just a point so it guarantees to get in.

A quick "eyeball only" look makes me think that the "AN" of CARIBBEAN should be in the centre of the vertical. That should centre it better.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

Bingo! I most occasions, centering the window line gives a good result already. Of course, every photo is different and depending on the whole photo, a completely different centering/framing can give a better result.

Thank you too all for the advice. Alas, the way I framed to original isn't going to allow for the kind of repairs it needs. Live and Learn!!

                        Cheers

First one I say: Tighter crop on the left, meaning cut part of the wing and a lot of tarmac at the bottom

Second one: A lot of tarmac in the bottom again.

I tend to be corrected as I'm no expert!

Thanks. For the first one there's not much to crop and the side b/c it was taken with the small lens from a taxiing plane at 55mm.
