The French Air Force aircraft that do display a civil reg are also identified militarily also by their c/n.An example would be A340 F-RAJA diplayed(military 75)not displayed.
The opposite military displayed but civil not(even tough issued)is true. The French Air Force Caravelles were an example of this.

As mentioned above, we are currently working on an update. Give us a week or two or so. A few months would also come in quite handy though

Maybe you could advertise the forum on the front page of the site so people see it easier?

Well, we also know, that not many photographers use the upload guideline. Heck, some don't even read the screeners comments. But the forums are the only way to make announcements to a wide audience.

I feel the upload page needs a bit more clarifacation here.

Agreed Alan, and I understand. A quick question in the dedicated forum prior to uploading should bring Genre, Category and Bad Info rejections to zero!

I was just making a point that the reg isn't always a giveaway to the genre of an aircraft

So according to your logic, this Frechn Air Force A310 would be civil, while a privately owned Soopwith Camel would be military ?

Yes, that may be the case - but it theompromises the understanding re what constitutes "Civil" vs "Military" - in my own opinion, I would follow the "rule' as it is stated on the upload screed - it specifically states that we select the genre accoring to the Aircraft pictured, nothing mentioned about registration and/or owner. Reason for saying this is that the french (bless their hearts) fly in the face of "logic" insofar as they have MILITARY kit with CIVIL registration - no wonder Argentina gave them a smack in 2007 RWC (Alain !)

    Hope this helps
