  • Re-sizing files on PaintShop Pro

I have not used my PainShop Pro editing software for a long time. My question is: how do I re-size or save the photos without too much compression on the files. I noticed that when I resize the photo, the resulting file size is only at 250 to 350 KB. I think this is too small compared to the original size of 1.8 to 2.5 MB on the original photo.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

I depends what size you are re-sizing to. If you resize to 1200x800 and save at maximum quality you can end up with a file size of around 800kb of course this depends on the subject, more blue sky the smaller the files. 1024x682 might produce around files around 600kb. These figures can change by quite a lot depending on the subject.

Jid, Thank you for your reply.

I am re-sizing to 1024 pixel wide but am getting 300KB file size.

I think my problem is saving the file at maximum quality. I can't figure how to how to set my paintshop pro to save the images at high image quality.

      Any help is greatly appreciated.

          Thanks!

I finally get to that function in my paintshop pro X and have set the jpeg compression value to attain maximum quality based on what I need.

Many thanks to Jid and Greg!
