What are my chances of getting any of these accepted?

Since the screeners have tightened up on ensuring photos are a certain size, my reject rate has gone up.

What do you mean by spot metering?

Could not imagine them being underexposed as most are of a mainly white aircraft on a sunny day. However, I was shooting through glass in the ADL terminal.

I'd pull the 2 ANZ ones now before they get screened. The first one is not centered and both are blurry i'm afraid. Also the photo size ratio is under the requirements we now ask. The easiest way to get the correct size is to specify the size of the crop box in photoshop to 1024x683 or 1024x768 and then your photos will be a consistent size. What this does is crops and resizes in 1 go.

I thought the ANZ ones would be pushing it. They were a bit low in the frame when I started. How are the others?

Spot metering is a metering mode on your 30D. This particular mode meters around the central point so sets the correct exposure on the photos for that point. So, it will have corrected the exposure for the aircraft but on a sunny day we all know that white colourschemes tend to completely blow out, so the whole photos is likely to have been pulled down in exposure to compensate for the fuselage making the background underexposed.
Make sure your 30D is in average metering and this will will take an average metering for the entire photo not just the fuselage. This may result in teh fuse being overexp still but you can notch the exp compensation down a notch to help this.

I think the 30D tends to overexpose things a bit.

These photos were taken in the winter months so I would expect the sun to be less harsh than in the summer.

I'd agree with Greg on the underexposure. The SQ doesn't look too bad, but then again i'm on my laptop right now which i don't use for screening.
Shooting through glass causes all sorts of problems. I guess that's the problem with ADL since the new terminal wiped out the old viewing mound. When i've been there i've tended to stick to the car park on Tapleys Hill Rd.

Not at all if it's a bright sunny day. Both of the photos below were taken in August at ADL and I was using exactly the same settings as I would do for summer shooting.

Thanks for everyone's help. I will see how they go.

You guys probably see things in the photo that I can't see as my eyes are not the best.
