  • [Help] Centering

    Hi all!
In my last queue I had a lot of rejections due to Bad Composition (aircraft not centered). It's only a matter of cropping.
I did not changed my workflow, I have over 200 photos accepted...
I use to measure the space between the upper part of the aircraft and the lowest gear (and the space between the tail and the left side and the nose and the right side) as usual.
Can anybody help me? Where did I wrong!?

    Here' s the rejections:

    Thanks in advance, best regards

All four are too low in the frame. Airborne shots like these are best centred focussing on the main fuselage. The tailfin could almost be viewed as an irritating addon. Don't centre using the top of the tail and lower part of gear.

With side on shots like these use the window line of the aircraft for the vertical centre.

    Pic.1. Centre along window line.

Pic.2. There is more space above the nose than there is below the lowest part of the lowest horizontal tail fin. Make these distances equal. (See the different centreing rule here for a non side on shot ? )

    Pic.3. As pic 1.

Pic.4. These are difficult ones. It's not quite a side on and the aircraft angles down from left to right. For this type of shot centre on the middle window of the aircraft so that there is an equal number of windows above the vertical centreline and an equal number of windows below the vertical centreline.

I'm on a crappy work monitor at the moment but, other than the centreing issues, they all look otherwise good to go.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
