  • Rejected twice! Don't know what to do

Hello everyone! Finally I'm posting here so I can get your opinion. I've noticed a very friendly atmosphere here so I'm not embarrased to show these rejections

I had both shots rejected twice, for being overexposed, but I think I can save them, although I'm very limited when it comes to editing, so all tips welcome!

    Second rejection:

And while I'm at it, any chance I can save this one?

    Regards and thanx in advance!

Wow, I didn't think your seconds were bad at all.

Your 3rd shot if it's blurry can't be saved. The over-sharpening can be toned down though.

      Thanx

I didn't expect the seconds to be rejected either, that's why I'm kind of lost as to what to do.

btw, how can I have on my posts a link to my shots in the db like you have?

      regards

The second attempts still look very "blown out" on the nose to me.
As for the signature thing, go in to the members section and click on "forum banner" and go through all the options there, and it will give you some code to paste into the signature field in your forum profile.
btw, I like the Air France shot, even if it isn't up to database standards.

          Thanx JD!

As for the blown out, should I just keep on playing around with the nose or is it a keeper for my personal collection?

I think I got the banner thing right ... although I tried changing some of the options (like having one specific airline in the banner) but I seem to get the same shots there no matter what changes I make. In any case, it worked, so

          thanx again!

            No problem!
As for the nose, it's hard to say. Sometimes a picture or part of a picture can be so overexposed that it's not really possible to save so it's best left for the personal collection. Maybe some of the more skilled editors on here can shed some light though.

If you have a copy of the RAW image then it should be easy to fix, if not then a correct fix is not possible although you could do something with it.

It is a common fault with a lot of images having what can be called a hot nose!

                Thanx for your replies

I guess for the time being I'm not going to work on these shots anymore, since I have several other shots to work on. Next time I have a break from spotting I'll get back to them. I have a personal long queue to screen

IMO you really should rework #3. The light is just fantastic.

Unfortunately it's oversharpen (see tail) but I think not that it is blurry.
(Well, oversharpening is mostly seen in blurry pics as a failed attempt to save them).

Perhaps I'd crop it thighter so you could get rid of the tailtop in the lower left corner?
