Still I wonder why they (Swiss) don't change the name on the engines. But then ... they are not in our, the spotters', service
This is common practice on many major airlines. To allow other lower labour costs for a part of the company, in this example for the regional or the former "Crossair" entity, they have a separate company. This is only an internal thing. The public just sees "SWISS". As mentioned, other airlines have similar constructions.

Thanks for replying. It remains an interesting case. I will of course upload both pics again, now with Swiss European.

    From the Swiss register...

    http://www.bazl.admin.ch/fachleute/l...r_suchergebnis

...and also here... http://www.airfleets.net/recherche/i...file=rechregis Enter the registration in the search field and it will show ownership/operation in order from top to bottom, i.e....
    Crossair
    Swiss International
    Swiss European Airlines

It will have Swiss International as one option in the upload page because at one time it was owned and operated by Swiss International and we have pictures from that era.

It is still owned by Swiss International but it is currently operated by Swiss European Airlines which is why that option comes up first.

A similar situation exists with BMI. They own RJ's but these are operated by BMI Regional.

If I upload a photo from an aircraft that's not in the auto-fill menu; I always check the a/c and/or airline on AIRFRAMES.ORG.

According to this database, the HB-IYW is from an airline with ICAO-code SWR (Swiss International Airlines.).
And you had an rejection for that?

I am also very interested in the explanation from our screeners

    Freek
ch-aviation.ch says Swiss European Air Lines.
    Then both must be right.

started a topic rejected: wrong airline

    rejected: wrong airline

    Hi all.

I had two pics rejected for wrong info.
    The registration is: HB-IYW

On my pictures it says very clearly on the engines:
    Swiss INTERNATIONAL airlines.

My pics were rejected for bad info of the airline, so obviuously I have to choose for the wrong airline from which one can also choose: Swiss EUROPEAN Airlines.

Now, I checked the dbase. The plane comes with both airlines!!

    I have appealed both rejections.

Does someone have a solution to this obstacle?
    Thanks in advance.

    Greets,

    Hinkelbein
