  • Whites as Yellow in Night Shots

Hi All, I need help with this issue... I took some night photos of mostly white planes but they came out too yellow, too "warm", the other colors seem ok.

Is there a way to correct this in editing and in the camera settings? I use a P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ6 in "Night Scenery" mode, of course using a tripod, and in this mode the AWB is automatic. No flash (didn't want to disclose my spotting location hahaha) and normal shutter speed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You can correct the white balance in almost all photo editors. Please look up the user guide of your software.

Set your white balance if you can for tungsten lighting which causes the warm orange/yellow cast. Failing that set the white point in your editing software to something that you know should be white. If there is nothing in the picture that can reliably be considered white then a good bet is to set the grey point on a tyre.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
