  • An old problem

    When I resize this photo from 3300 x 2200 (3,98MB) to 1024 x 683 (510kB) I get JPG compression artefacts.

I only cropped the photo and resized it. How is it possible that I have these artefacts and other photographers have not. What do I wrong

A quick look on my work monitor doesn't reveal any compression artefacts to me Paul. It's a bit soft and might need a bit of contrast work but other than that it's not far off uploadable quality.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

I see artefacts in the thin white line just above the wing.

I would say that is a sharpening issue Paul.

But I did not sharpen the photo. I only resized it.

When you resize Paul, do you resample?

what software are you using for the Resize?

When I resize, Stephen, I have "Resample image bicubic" on.

I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
