  • How to sharpen only the aircraft?

    Hello,

    can anyone advise on how to sharpen only the aircraft and not the sky as well to prevent to get a grainy pic?

    Joop,

    Use the Quick Selection tool(W) in photoshop.
    By this way you can select the aircraft like I did with the DHL

      I use the magnetic lasso and go around the aircraft to get it as the wand doesn't usually get the whole aircraft for me.

        This works perfectly fine for me in Elements 5.0 and Photoshop CS3.

          Step by step guide for sharpening the aircraft only

          Hi Guys,
          have tried to use quick selection tool but it only selects part of the aircraft, can someone give me a step by step guide to select the whole aircraft
          any help greatly appreciated

            i select first only the sky, it's easy to do it specially in night shots. Later I click "Invert selection", all that is not sky will be select, and then apply the unsharp mask.

            at least for me, when the aircraft needs sharpening, all the photo (minus th sky) need it too (ground, cars, fingers...) so it works
