It's this sort of arrogance which makes me re think why I upload to Jetphotos.net

Why do JP staff have to go out of their way to attack the websites greatest asset- the photographers.

Without us there would be nothing yet you guys still seem to continue the attack.

    Grow up

      THE FRIENDLY WAY TO FLY

It was, I fully agree but that is no longer the case. There are crew members now that go out of their way to be as rude as possible, thats just sad to see.

I don't think Andrew is a crew member Matt.

I'll be happy to discuss your thoughts next time we're out at the fenceline together...

Not a crew member Matt, just saying it like it is! And you calling someone else arrogant and telling them to grow up is somewhat ironic! Pot, kettle etc...

You have often been "arrogant" in your dealing with screeners on these (and the mods on other) forums, constantly wading in with both feet only to back out when people challenge you on your claims...

            Matt,
I love your appeal messages. Great fun in the morning.

If you send one more rude, arrogant comment (from a jetphotos screener like the one on this rejection) I will actually post a thread on the forums embarrasing you. This is ridiculous- your not meant to be rude and scathing to photographers- esp one like me with 300 shots not 3 in database and you accept the worst crap then blast me for maybe 1 shot which isnt perfect. I'd like an apology from Chris Kilroy or upper management because this is downright disgraceful!
Btw thx for waiting till we screened the appeal.

And for information of the public, here is to comment left by the screeners:

Terrible bad quality, sorry but you really have to prescreen your shots better

Can you please tell me which member of the crew has been rude, I don't see any rude crew comments in this thread. I just see a photographer complaining about his correctly rejected pictures who doesn't want to see his mistake and tries to blame the screeners. And I can see you heating up the discussion for no obvious reason, again.

I am deeply sorry for the delay, but such a carefully worded appeals has to be treated with utmost respect and consideration, which obviously takes time. Going through the 300+ shots you have in the db, to take them into consideration did take me some time. So we hardly could do it in the 4 hours that make a day.

                      Matt,
Congrats, great fun reading your appeal message before getting to a full day of meeting at work...
And oh btw, I am the bad, agressiv, rude, evil, screener who left you that message.
Why don't you post here the link to that rejection so we can let everyone judge why I had to send it to you ?? And remember that it was after screening many of your other rejected pics which were all way below the standards.

                      Regards
                      Alex

Because the screeners and admin, who are by the way equally as important to this site as its contributors, have every right to defend themself against people like you who have a chip on both shoulders and gripe like a whinging schoolgirl at a rejection. Your appeal message is disgraceful to say the least.

Now don't get me wrong Matt, I understand the concept of rejection. Regardless of the number of photos one may have in this database rejections are a way of life, deal with it or don't upload.

I've had my share of dummy spits over the last 10 years or so of uploading, not so much here but elsewhere, and I regret the majority of those incidents and in hindsight should have heeded the advice offered by others. And I'd like to think that I've learnt from my rejections and that it shows in my uploads which I take great pride in. Jetphotos provides a superb platform for photographers to showcase their work. It's friendly, it's fun and it's all very much a low fuss operation that yields rewards (ie: image views) for photographers.

How about you do the noble thing and subject your allegedly acceptable image to the scrutiny of your peers? Let others decide if you've been unfairly dealt with.

Infact, have a look at my latest reject Matt and give me your thoughts on it - I'd love to hear them. I appealed the rejection and the appeal was unsuccessful (and without personal comment).

I felt any more sharpening would be to the point of overkill and I prefer the slightly undercooked look to the well done and slightly jagged image - but I build a bridge and moved on to the next shots which were both accepted into the database recently.

Heed the advice of others mate, and learn from it.

                            Craig,

there was a message lft with your appeal: "Craig def needs another round of sharpening."

Did it not show up in the email? And the pic is a classic example for selective sharpening. Jidīs tutorial is a treasure to learn how to do that right.

Selective sharpening isn't one of my strong points Seahawk, and thin fiddly cheatlines aren't favourites of mine either just quietly!

And I must admit to missing the personal comment, on looking back at the e-mail the text doesn't leap off the page at the reader. Perhaps it could be refined slightly to place more emphasis on any comment that may be kindly left by the admin staff.

Anyway, I'd better go and find Jid's tutorial on selective sharpening and do me some reading!

                                Craig and all others.

I was not referring to this reject at all which I personally and I have the right to have my own opinion interpreted the wording as of being demoting and quite belittling frankly for a photographer with the amount of shots I have. It was not of a high quality and I admit this- I just believe the response was all of the above I have mentioned hence why i was a little unsettled in my rejection appeal.

I am not trying to say I am a consummate professional, none of us are and relatively my experience level obviously isn't the highest by any means here or elsewhere- most would know i'm the first to ask for advice and seek assistance shooting a pic/motion blur or trying something different at the airport.

What Andrew Mclaughlin has said and posted was what I was responding to and not a rejection. The content of his posts are frankly false and claims about other forums with mods that are just frankly not true- just wanted to clear this up

Now, back to topic- there is a clear problem as has been seen in many a thread with people who have questioned the new queue limit rules or a rejection being basically told off (for want of a better word) or just not responded to in what would be a cordial manner.

I was simply alluding to this and was backed up quite resoundingly by what is one of the world's best aviation photographers and many many others on this forum, many elite members who are simply too scared to post something for fear of possible retribution in screening, the queue or similar.

If you think I'm joking by the way about the above please don't think I am because it's the case. What I was trying to deliver in that post was some constructive criticism from an elite member from a perspective out of management/screeners or JP and it was immediately blown up into the rejection and then into this debacle which I really don't know why.

This is not what aviation/photography and enjoyment is all about and I'd love to see an end to it.

What would be awesome would be some sort of way that we could include constructive comments/criticism by photographers into discussions taking place between JP staff so that inclusions and potential ideas/votes etc can be factored in.

This way discontent amongst all community members would be far down and we would have 10 fold up on anet or any site if we could achieve this.

                                That is all.

                                Cheers
