Any possible explanations for my rejected photo??

Hello everyone,

I just recently got a photo rejected due to reasons for cropping/photo edges/size ratio.

After examining my photo again after the rejection, I could not find out as to why it was rejected. I do not understand whether or not cropping/photo edges/size ratio actually played a role in the photo. I simply could not find anything wrong with the photo in terms of cropping etc...

So I need help from you all to give me possible explanation(s) for the rejection and also any advice to correct it.

From our upload guides:

1.2 Image Formats

Photos should be uploaded between 4:3 or 3:2 format. Those formats are typically used by almost all digital cameras, so that any changes to the format can only be achieved by deliberately cropping the photo differently. A photo outside these size ratios will be rejected using the rejection reason "Cropping / Photo edges".

To make it easier for you here are the typical sizes for both ratios.


4:3 3:2
800 x 600
1024 x 76
1280 x 960
1600 x 1200
800 x 533
1024 x 681
1200 x 800
1600 x 1067



Example: a photo of 1024 px should be between 681 and 768 pixels high.

I have opened your image in photoshop and its
1024x672 as the crop is a 3:2 ratio it should be 1024x683(ish)
I would advise a redit and set youyr crop box to a 3x2 and crop again resize to 1024 and it should could out at about 683 give or take 2 pixels i've usually found.

And it is 672px high with the jp.net copyrightbar. It should be 682px high without it.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. Now I understand the reason behind the photo rejection. I guess I should revert back to the original and recrop it from there. (My D90 is 12MP so the resolution is huge! I end up having to compress every photo before uploading to jp.net)

About the reg/cn, I may never know. All I do know is the following:
Aircraft: Boeing 777-312
Airline: Singapore Airlines
Flight: SQ493
Origin: Cairo (CAI, HECA)
Destination: Singapore (SIN, WSSS)
Stopover: Dubai (DXB, OMDB)
Departure Date: June 26, 2009
Arrival Date: June 27, 2009

That's all the info I have, if anyone can help me find the registration that would be fantastic!
