  • A couple of rejects I don't follow

    I have had these couple rejected and can't fully comprehend the problem with them. If someone could just clarify that would be great.

    I have use this crop before on other images and it never got cut off reject?

    1. I would not say cut-off, but I do agree on dark and way too contrasty.

    2. a little purple and horizon needs checking as well

      Hi Ryan,

      I took the liberty to edit your picture in CS4.

      The left part of the picture is colour corrected, the right part is your original. As you can see, the blue cast really stands out.

        Spot on, did you use Colour Balance for this? Or Selective colour?

          Much easier! I clicked "Auto colour" knowing that these kind of well exposed pictures with lots of grey usually do fine with auto colour.

          Then after thinking, hmm looks a bit better now, I doublechecked the colours in the levels dialog using the colour pickers.

          It's a nice shot, after correcting it's an instant add.

          Roel.

            Roel,
            Thanks for you help with that I fully understand the problem now and will work on it when I have the chance.

            I have had this rejected any suggestions please ?
            Also this crop has being rejected, yet accepted on another photo?

              It's about the same thing as your first rejected photo( reject id=2662909 )
              This is also done with Auto Colour and the final touch with colour levels. For the normal light you can use the normal levels.

              Maybe a crop directly next to the R will work. It depends a bit on who screens your photo as you will probably have noticed.

                Not a very eye pleasing crop imho, but not the main reason for the reject. 2 others are the main faults, without them we might would have taken the crop.

                  This shot is almost side on and as such lends itself better to a "whole aircraft" picture. Front end crops are better made from a front quarter shot where you are looking more into the jet intakes and can then crop closer to the front end while retaining some interest with the engines. Alternatively, shoot from the rear quarter looking up the jet pipes. Here's a couple of examples....

                  [photoid=6545701]

                  [photoid=6596051]
                  If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

                    Thank-you people. I will re-edit the photos a little later on.
                    Once again thanks.
