I went out this morning to take some shots. Apparently almost all the photos I took are blurry. I have (almost) never had this problem before, above all it was great weather and my camera was at f/8 and 1/1000s. can you spot the blurriness in these two photos?
The first doesn't look too bead to me at all to be honest; a little oversharp if anything, but the second one is quite soft. Did you use any noise reduction on it?

P.S. Never assume because you had a fast shutter speed and the lens was stopped down the image can't be blurry. All kinds of things can make an image blurry (or appear blurry) regardless of the shutter speed.
I know a shot *can* be blurry at a low shutter speed and at f/8. But I've never had that problem before, and the past couple of months the weather has been so bad I've been at 1/200 - 1/400 usually.
I didn't use noise reduction, but the image was a little overexposed which I corrected for. Maybe it comes from that.
But thanks for your opinion on the image. Maybe certain other people were on drugs when they looked at my image
How is your focussing set up ? Look closer and you'll see that the foregrounds are more in focus than the aircraft.
The blurriness is most easily seen in the nosegears and window lines where there is a distinct loss of definition, but overall both are blurry rather than soft.

Hmm... That kind of comment won't get you anywhere. The second image is soft and as such is unacceptable regardless of whether the reason given was blurry or otherwise. In fact, on a closer second look the first is actually soft as well in parts, particularly the windows over the wing around the emergency exit.
The focussing was on auto, focussed to the center point (or whatever you call it). I remember checking, just to be sure, and it was close to infinity.

On my EOS 400D, I use AI-SERVO setting and since I decided to do this, I've almost never had problems with focussing.
