  • Backlit decission I can not understand

I recieved this picture rejected for backlit!
Well of course it is, because it is direct view to the south at the ILA-Berlin on the runway/taxiway and during the show .
I appealed it with this information because there were several pictures accpeted of this view direction and with different aircrafts (Transall, F16, F4U, ....) with the same problem.

But the appeal was denied very fast within only a few minutes

the aircraft is backlit, as you point out yourself. The backlight doesn't add anything at all to the photo. You are simply standing on the wrong side for taking photos.

But hopefully you know that there was no chance to be on the other side.

And for me it is not the question that this picture is backlit or not. The question is why this one is not acceptabel but all the others were accepted here?

I don't know which other photos you mean. I just quickly browsed the first page of photos from this airport and haven't found a photo as backlit as yours.

I assume that this is the Transall image that you are talking about. http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.p...850886&nseq=51 or possibly...
          http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.p...848724&nseq=83
They were accepted because there is some life in them, they are not a dull, flat, poorly lit image like yours is.
          The F4U... http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.p...850757&nseq=61
It was accepted because there is some life in it, it is not a dull, flat, poorly lit image like yours is.
I have looked through the first 180 images from Berlin Schoenefield and cannot find any F15 shots. There may however be some in later pages.

Your appeal was very quickly screened and denied because I got to see it very shortly after you posted it. Pretty good service really although it's not quite the response you wanted.

Let's remind ourselves of your backlit image... http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject_b.php?id=4695948

...and then, let's look at another image that someone else got from a public enclosure. Well lit and with a very similar interest factor.

Sometimes you just have to accept that you don't get the shot you wanted and have to move on !

You are joking aren't you ?

The first two agreed are a bit backlit, as are some others that were accepted but they at least have some detail to them and a varied level of lighting. This is the difference between acceptable and not acceptable. Your upload fell on the not acceptable side of the line.

If you are going to try to say that the F4U shot is backlit and as bad as your flat, lifeless, uninteresting shot then you need to take a deep breath and take a look at yourself !

And that's the main point !

You have the satisfaction to have it in your personal collection, and that should be more important than to have it online on JP

I am sorry Brian I have not talked about any F15, at the ILA, there was no F15 present.
And sorry if we talk about the last picture of the Dornier it is a little bit overexposured and looks unnatural in my eyes also like the colors of the F4U and Transall you posted.
                And sorry "uniteresting" is subjective!

                Pictures are always discussabel.

By the way the ILA was at the new, but still closed airfield "Willy Brand" and not Schönefeld, so EDDB is officialy wrong. It is the next airfield direct south of the old one. But anyway!

Sorry, my mistake F16, not F15.

Please take these comments as a learning curve. We do accept some images that could be described as technically backlit but still have enough lit interest in them.
Im not saying the Dornier is "uninteresting", its just too heavily shaded to be acceptable.
I look forward to the day that I get to screen and accept a well lit version from you.
