  • Delete account or not?

    Hi,

I want to move all my pics to another website since I can apparently no longer meet the standards set here.
Although I haven't changed a single bit in my workflow, I no longer seem to be able to have a single picture accepted. I just cannot master the whole luminosity thing.
It may be my camera, my lenses, my software, my PC... I have no clue. But I am fed up with failure and I lack the time and the energy (mainly the latter) to improve my skills. I still have hundreds of unedited photos but the point comes when one has to accept things are over and the fun is gone.
I want to move my pics to a site with lesser standards (but with more fun for me).
This will involve uploading pictures that are on jp.net. Is that a problem?
If so - and only if so - I will have all my pictures on jp.net deleted.

    Thanks,

    Hinkelbein

PS I see only now that I posted this in the wrong section, but I don't know how to move it. Sorry for that.

I agree, maybe the best decision to leave Jetphoto's.
I just put 3 pics in the queue and as for me counts, this is my last attemp.

So some may post photos of blurry aircrafts, others aren't allowed...strange politic on this site.

This site is not about fun, as a hobby should be. The answer is simple: your site doesn't deserve my pictures!
Ok, so after your appeal and email you felt the need for such a message in the forum... so let's be clear too :

                here's your rejection : https://www.jetphotos.com/viewreject_b.php?id=6238037

And your appeal message was : I've seen worse than this on Jetphotos.com!

Seriously what did you except with such appeal message ? Not only is your picture very soft but it also lacks the special category category. But yeah, it's so much easier to blame US for your mistakes, great attitude all the way.

And then you sent us an email and this is how it started : "So it seems you don't know anything about photography and even worse: your OWN site."
Again, blame us for not knowing anything about photography, the thousands of picture we all have in the database, the years in the hobby, the dozen of thousands of picture screened, sure that doesn't count and we absolutely needed your expertise to tell us how much we suck.

As you have requested we'll delete the account but after your post in the forum we'll leave it for a few hours so people can see the rejection in question.

                Kind Regards

                Alex

I understand: I'll throw away my camera. I'm worth nothing as I'm a loser!

I knew I'm not good at any thing.

                          ..sigh...

                          1. Panning shots, when well executed can look great. Unfortunately, yours was not that well executed, resulting in a soft/blurry aircraft, yet a not quite blurry background (a good panning shot will typically be under 1/100 shutter speed). There is nothing to be ashamed at not quite getting it right, it takes lots of practice before you are usually able to obtain stellar results. Even now, I usually end up deleting something like 90% of my attempts at panning.

                          2. Claiming to have 2nd/3rd hand info about what people think about the site isn't necessarily the strongest support for your case. That would be like me saying "I know some guys who think Trainferry is...". Who cares (or even knows if it's true) what some other people think? I'll form my opinion of you based on first-hand experience only, thank you, I probably it would be best if you do as well. How many crew or experienced uploaders have you heard directly say "I'm the greatest photographer"? Not that many, if any at all, I guess.

                          3. Nobody is suggesting you throw away your camera, nor that you are a loser, or worth nothing. Those are only your own words. Of course everyone is disappointed when their images are rejected, but this site does have standards to maintain. All we ask is that you try to look objectively (as difficult as it may be) at your own images, and seek unbiased advice from your peers. If you had done that, perhaps you would have seen the rejection in question was justified.

                          4.

Well, you submitted it for acceptance, which means thousands of people would have potentially seen it. Now you wish that they don't, simply because it was rejected? Why would that be, especially if you think the rejection was unjustified? Wouldn't you want everyone to see it, to be able to judge for themselves?

Take a little time, cool down, and try to look at things a little more objectively - then perhaps you will see you are not so aggrieved as you think. Their is a community of support available here, but you have to be open-minded and willing to take advice to take full advantage of it.

The only thing about the situation that makes me angry, is the truth. I saw photos that were blurrier than this one. The background is blurry as I used the panning technique.

And yes: if you decide to reject a photo, you don't have any legal right to share it with public, this is only the photographers decisions. So you need to remove the link in the forum, as I did not gave permission to share. I'm only willing to accept to share my accepted photos.

As far as I am aware your rejected images are only viewable to JP crewmembers. They are not, as far as I know publicly available.
