  • JPG Compression Artefacts - How Do I Look Out For This?

    Good day. I am a beginner & still learning. I am seeking some advice on how I can spot "JPG Compression Artefacts" in my photos.
    The sample is as such...

      I actually don't think jpeg compression is the problem with this image. Yes, heavily compressed images often look very soft due to the compression, but I think your image is just very soft, perhaps even out of focus, but this is not due to jpeg compression. The fact that the file size is over 700k would support this, as if compression were truly an issue, I would expect a file size of closer to 100k.
