    2. looking at the verticals, needs a little CCW rotation.
Thanks Dana .. on #2 .. are you talking about the vertical of the building and the lamppost?

Yes. You're obviously not using a wide angle lens, so there shouldn't be that much barrel distortion towards the edges/corners, meaning verticals should be pretty much vertical across the frame.

      • Okay thanks .. this was taken with a 60-600mm from an altitude of 2,500' so, now no wide angle distortion - I'll work on it again. Thanks as always!

I highly doubt that would get past screening.

            • I have a question regarding horizon - there are so many possibilities with this and other images from this session - is the horizon good on the lamp poles in the foreground? Or is there something at the back of the image tha Click image for larger version

Background verticals towards the center of the frame usually best, though lacking in this one. I don't see anything here that tells me the horizon is significantly off.

                  • I see to be battling with this series, trying to find the right one - can I get a prescreen on this please? One of my concerns is the horizon - I just am not too sure what to base it off.

Soft/blurry/heat hazed, too far. Horizon..either ok or maybe a touch CW (though moot due to previous issues).

                        • Can I get a pre-screen with one more from the series before I give up on it totally?

Slightly oversharpened and right side a bit blurry. Slight blue tint as well..through an open window/door? If yes, probably the harsh light doing that (messing with the WB).

                            • Shooting hand held through the open (removed) door of a helicopter, I'll see if there is one more that the focus is hopefully okay - sun was pretty high, 3:00pm on the West Coast.

Yeah I know those runway flights usually have the doors off/open, but it seemed like a lot of your issues might have been caused by shooting through glass. At that focal range, I doubt focus is the issue; if the right side is really as bad as it looks it's either a lens issue, panning unevenness, or just heat haze.
