Compression: check you are saving at max quality. Also you may want to try "Saving for web" in PS.

On #1, there are also some editing halos.

I increased contrast, and adjusted the WB because it looked too warm.

Probably as good as you're going to get it in terms of contrast. Might also sharpen the front end a bit.
