    Hi Everyone,

I had struggled a while ago trying to get some photos up and recently decided to get back into it.

    All advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi, these would all be rejected for the following reasons:

    1. cropping/ratio, dark, soft, blurry, color, compression
    2. cropping/ratio, soft, blurry, color, compression, centering
    4. cropping/ratio, soft, color, compression
    5. cropping/ratio, soft, compression

#3 is not upload size, so can't comment.

Quick assessment is that you are asking too much of your gear for the conditions, and that you are not fully cognizant of the upload requirements (for example all of the images are outside of the allowable 4:3 size ratio). Better edits may yield more workable results on one or two of these, but generally the rest are not really fixable. If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the quick response! I will have to go back and go through the guidelines, however, is there anything that you can suggest to fix the compression problem? I am uploading the photos without quality reduction and I resize using Paint.net, ensuring that quality is 100%..

Thanks so much for the help, it is greatly appreciated.

I don't use paint.net, so can't comment on the workflow there. The compression is noticeable in the sky, but honestly I'd sort out the other issues first as compression is the least of the problems with the images above.

Okay, so with the cropping issue, is it just the 4:3 size ratio or are the centering of some an issue as well?

I believe I fixed the cropping issue and sharpened it up. Would this be better? Click image for larger version

Ratio is within allowable limits, but I don't personally see the need for a 4x3 crop. Why do you want to include the extra sky/clouds? 3x2 or 16x9 would be more suitable, imho. Other than that, it's centered slightly low.

Okay, I changed took off less of the sky, is the image sharp enough? Is compression still visible? Click image for larger version

Thanks, is purple fringing something that can be fixed fairly easily? Or will this be added to my personal collection?

Depending on the severity, it can usually be fixed with software.
