Your images have multiple issues. First is the lack of proper framing. Please look though the database at already accepted images similar to what you plan to submit to see what we are looking for. Once you have done that, come back with some new & better edits to ask for more specific advice.
Both those shots need a closer crop. The first is also backlit, so that shot is a no-go. As Dana suggested, look through the database, and the various guides on the forums to get a feel for what is acceptable. You are not horribly far off, but that is the best place to start from what I see currently.
