I've transitioned to uploading photos to jp from 1280 to 1400 and now I am getting my photos rejected for being "soft". Need help/advice on what the problem is!

The problem is the images are quite soft, the first two almost blurry. It is harder to hide such defects at larger resolutions, so the larger pixel size is showing the problems more clearly.Originally posted by tyjibbs View Post
As to what's causing the softness, given the shutter speeds on your images, I'd say motion blur/lens shake is the main culprit. To fix the problem, start shooting at faster shutter speeds, and go back to uploading at 1280pix. -
When I'm in Lightroom editing, the images are very sharp. But as soon as I put them into the queue they lose their quality and look soft...

The problem may be with your understanding what JP considers 'soft'. Both of those images at 1600/2048pix would also be considered soft by JP standards, although the QF is very close to being acceptable. You'll just need to adjust your shooting technique/editing if you want to get images accepted, and like I said keep to lower upload sizes until you get a handle on JP's upload requirements.Originally posted by tyjibbs View PostWhen I'm in Lightroom editing, the images are very sharp.
