Would the aerial under the wheel there be a rejection? - it's not touching the aircraft, but wold this be rejected for too much clutter?

Subjective judgement call by whoever screens it, but my guess is it would be ok.

ok- thank you, dlowwa. For my future reference, how can one tell if a picture is severely compressed? - just by looking at it, or using some other tool? thanks again.

Just looking at it in this case - every hard line in this image has compression artifacts around it, making it even look blurry in places.

Obstruction/clutter is not an issue, but image is severely compressed and as such certainly lacks the quality to be accepted at 1920pix.

However the picture also appears to be slightly over-saturated.

Color is not an issue.

The aircraft is not obstructed at all so it would not be rejected for obstruction. In terms of clutter its honestly a toss up. However the picture also appears to be slightly over-saturated.

Aircraft not centered, but would this be acceptable - the ground crew is essential to the motive of the shot, with the pilot checking that he is away and clear of the aircraft....

You could try, but very likely a centering rejection.
