  • Ahh, I apologise for that. I always presumed that this forum was for making sure photos are upto scratch before adding them to the queue. I understand your 'batches of similar images' point, and I certainly appreciate your time for looking at those. On a side note, thank you for your persistent effort over the past year, I've learnt a lot actually.

You're still welcome to post whatever you would like, but you might not get crew response if you follow the pattern I described above. Better if you just pick a few from any given batch, and post them with any concerns or questions you have about them. The hope is that eventually you'll get to the point where you're able to 'self pre-screen' and thus see your overall acceptance rate improve

      • Pre-screening on these please, conditions weren't great, but I've tried to get the contrast up as much as I could without it looking unrealistic (to me)

Indeed, these would all be rejected for contrast, along with soft, noise, etc..

          • Hi there, pre-screening on these please, first 4 have already been screened and reject, so I've adjusted them.

            1. EI-DHT - Special Scheme will be added this time. Was too low.

              • I've sharpened them differently this time, instead of sharpening only, I have changed the radius and detail of the sharpening too, please could you advise if these are sharpened better than the previous set. Also how do you check sharpness (I remember you said there is a clear edge between 2 lines but when I look at photos already on JP and mine in lightroom they look completely different)? I edit in max res then export to 1280/1600/1920, or should I be editing in what I call the exporting resolution? Thanks Adam.

                Prescreening please

All of them still soft to varying degrees.

Sharpness is almost always done with a quick check using the good old eyeballs mk.1. Biggest thing you can do to improve your images is not upload at 1920pix, as larger resolutions will show any flaws (like softness) much more easily. Try at 1280pix, with a touch more sharpening, and you should be ok. As for which step in the process to add sharpening, you will find different schools of thought, though most will probably sharpen after they've down-sized from the original resolution. I will do either, depending on the specific image.

                  • I'm just doing the one photo this time then using that as a good guide. Pre-screening please.

Borderline soft..which is an improvement. Where the 1920 version would certainly been rejected, this 1600 version only may be rejected. Following that trend, 1280 as I suggested...
