I recently received a rejection on the image attached below. The reason was too much or too little contrast. I would like to know how I can fix the image to ensure an higher chance of getting accepted next time.

I doubt this is the case with this photo but for future reference, sometimes you can receive a contrast rejection if the the aircraft is darker than the background.

Very poor light due to the overcast conditions. This image likely can't be fixed. Better to wait for better light conditions next time.
